Using DNA testing, I have been able to verify that my husband is not biologically a Hanan. Two present day Hanan's, both descendents of Archimedes Hanan's (1810 - 1902) brothers showed no shared markers. Note that Archimedes Hanan not only raised Archie but also Archie's mother, Julia Ann Terry, who's father gave her up in Illinois after her mother died.
After finding and contacting present day Ketchums, descendents of Lewis Grant Ketchum, I am hoping their DNA markers match up with present day Hanans.
