Thomas Demetri Kahriman was born in Sparta, Greece in 1898. Thomas and many of his family immigrated to the United States from the family village, Papadianikia, where his brother, Nikko and sister,Alexandria and their families still live.
Houmpvalis became the family name after it was changed from Kahrimanis due to a action of great
courage and strength by an ancestor in the past
100 or more years.
