Propective members please read this:
The 12 and 25 marker y-dna tests are not recommended for Guthrie's. They will quite often indicate a match with another Guthrie and predict the two have a common ancestor. When the test is upgraded the dna of the two diverges. i.e. no common ancestor. The Guthrie dna is so homogeneous that at least 25 markers must be tested to achieve a positive match.
