This project was initiated to determine the origin of the surname FAKES. It came about due to research conducted in the United States regarding a FAKES family residing in Wilson County, Tennessee in the 1800's. Much research has already been done with the available records in Wilson County as well as Calloway County, Kentucky. Research has hit a brick wall in finding a link back from the U.S. to suspected English or Scottish roots for John Fakes, born about 1780.
