Project Background
It seems that the last word on the Dodson/Dotson families has been the two volume set of books (THE DODSON/DOTSON FAMILY OF NORTH FARNHAM PARISH, RICHMOND COUNTY, VIRGINIA) by Rev. Silas Lucas and Mrs. Sherman Williams. The problem is that many of our families can NOT be found in this publication, not even in the "Dangling Dodsons." Furthermore, many of us have exhausted cemetery visits, court house records, etc., and all to no avail. We have hit the proverbial "brick wall" and have nowhere else to go, so we're now turning to DNA as our last hope in identifying family lines.
