About us
Y-DNA test results have clearly divided the members into multiple distinct groups, for example:
(1) The 66/67 matching markers with haplotype R1b1b for Glen Cress and Willis Grass shows there is a common ancestor for Philip Cress, b1780VA, and Daniel Grass, b1774PA.
(2) Ten members (surnames Cress, Kress, Crace, Crass) with close matches and haplotype J2. The earliest known ancestor among this group is "Rev War" George Cress b1739PA.
(3) Five members (surnames Cress, Grass) with close matches and haplotype R1b1b. The earliest known ancestor among this group is Johann Nicholas Heinrich Kress, b1721Germany.
(4) Several other groups of 2 and 3 with haplotype R1b1 are losely matched.
(5) Some (surnames Grass, Crass, Gress, Graf, Kluttz, Roach, Archambeault) have no close matches within this project, but do have matches within the entire FTDNA data base.
