Background
This project, which deals largely with the ancient families of Coads and Coodes from West Country Britain, has turned out to be one of the most exciting in FTDNA. What at first appeared to be many ancient families has turned out to be three distinct families of real antiquity, with common ancestors in each case going back to the 1500s.
We also have provided a place for non-West Country families, including the Codds and Coodys of Ireland and the Cudes of North Carolina, to register their tests. So far several different strains of Irish Coads have appeared also,
