Project Goals
It is the objective of this project to finally have definitive PROOF of whether a link exists between lineages. Various documents have been found to contain a number of different spellings for the same individuals - Boucher, Boutcher, Bucher, Butcher, Boocher - and each lineage may have chosen to use one spelling over the others, leading to the differences we see today. Another possibility is that the names, even those with identical spelling, may have been derived independently. Perhaps eventually this study could also help trace their migration paths in and from Europe.
