There are two participants from the very large 'Southern Bickham' line, both said to be descendants of Benjamin Bickham, one of the original five brothers who "originated" this extensive line. DNA testing frequently results in a big surprise, as is found when comparing the DNA results of these two participants. We expected the values of the twelve markers to be the same. They are not. The values at Markers 390 and 439 are each one digit different. As both of these participants descend from two different sons of Benjamin Bickham, the differences in values may indicate a DNA mutation (or two) within the past six or eight generations.
The three participants who descend from George Washington Bickham, a son of Hugh Bickham, are an exact match of the first 12 markers. The participant who is a descendant of Richard Bickham of 1698 Burlington, New Jersey, is not a match with these three participants who descend from George Washington Bickham. There is a difference of three markers, indicating there is not a relationship between Richard Bickham and Hugh Bickham of Logan County, Ohio.
Also note the DNA results of the participant (#4) who descends from Richard Bickham, and those of participant (#5) who descends from Benjamin Bickham's son Charles. There is a possibility of a relationship there.
