This project began as a genetic genealogy surname project to determine the Y-DNA  results for various Germanic families who have the Bauman, Baumann, Bowman or Boman surname.  We are looking to connect various Bowman families through their male ancestors Ydna whether if they are in USA or Europe.

A secondary impetus is to try and find connecting families of Ameria to European families in the last 200 to 600 years.

How to join the Bauman project:  In order to join the Bauman project you must be a member of FTDNA.  To be a member of FTDNA you have to order and paid for a Ydna test.  Once you are a member a personal page is set up for you.  On that person page in the blue header at the top is a section labeled projects.  Highlight that and then highlight Join.  Go to the the letter "B" and look through the list of project names till you find Bauman.  Highlight the name Bauman and a Project join page will come up which has the name and other information about the project.  At the bottom in an orange box is the word JOIN.  Highlight that.  This will put you in the Bauman project.
