Project Background
First let me say, there seems to be some confusion, so let me set you straight before you join this project.
If you are not H Haplo Group on the Y chromosome test, then this project isn't for you.
If you are female, you do not carry the male
Y Chromosome, thus we can not use your results for this project.
If you are male and you have mtDNA tested and it is your mtDNA results showing H Haplo Group, they are 2 differnt things.
Y Chromosome and mtDNA X Chromosome H Haplo Group are not one and the same.
There is a H Haplo Group for the male's and a totally seperate H Haplo Group for the females, they are 2 differnt Haplo Groups.
YOU MUST BE A MALE! And you MUST show H Haplo Group on your Y Chromosome test, not your mtDNA test. If you are not sure about your results, please contact me first before joining this project.
This project was set up to compare our rare DNA.
By joining this project you agree to:
Upgrade to the SNP test to confirm your H Haplo Group first and foremost. This project needs as many confirmed H's as possible to be able to compare our results to each other.
I will allow all of you who are an estimated H to join this project, but some time in the near future, I ask that you SNP test to confirm your
Haplo Group.
For you who have only tested at the 12 marker level. You agree that your test will be upgraded in the future to the 37 marker or better Y kit. 12 markers just isn't enough information.
There appears to be 2 groups of Y gene H Haplo Group.
1. India / Sri Lanka
2 England / Europe who are Romany / Gypsy descendants
FTDNA has agreed to include the European Romany in the description of Y Haplo Group H. There is strong enough evidence now to include the European Romany as having a direct relationship with Y Haplo H.
