My name is Linda Watkins. In 2001, my dad used Family Tree DNA to test his Y DNA. Until recently, the only match was a known cousin who also tested early and matched 11/12. In 2007, two other matches have occurred and the men all descend from the same ancestor, William, born 1690 in VA. Each of the participants in the DNA project descend from a different son of this William. It is so exciting to have my genealogy research validated by DNA testing. One of the matches knew the connection of our ancestors. For the other it was a surprise and now they can take their genealogy back to this William. I hope you each have this kind of success soon!!!
