About us
The Tirohn DNA project is interested in the names Tirohn, Terohn, Trohn, Tyrohn, Teirohn and close variants of these names. It has a 12 marker test for DNA as the basis, so the cost for contributing a sample for analysis to this group is the group price of $99.00. The sample, must be from a male with one of the above surnames or a close variant of one of those surnames.
The procedure to sign up for the test is to go to the web site www.familytree.dna, select the name Tirohn as the project name, and order a kit.
The Tirohn name comes from West Prussia and Danzig by the Baltic. Some of this area was acquired by Germany and some is now in Poland. The Tirohn name in German would sound similar to Teirohn, but Tirohn is now pronounced like Tyrone Power's name. The variants are included to cover differently pronounced names.
For any questions about this project, including different spellings, please contact the administrator of this project by e-mail at hey-jean@pacbell.net being sure to put the Tirohn name in the subject line.
