Project Background
DNA testing can be a valuable tool in genealogical research when it is combined with conventional genealogical research. Conventional genealogical research can help us pinpoint specific common ancestors. But it can only go as far as the records for the most distant relative. Test results, on the other hand, can be used to confirm a suspected connection, or disprove a connection, between two descendants. So, the Y-DNA test may help us to acquaint ourselves with our Therrien origins in France and the common roots of Jean and Pierre Terrien and their descendants where the records have not been able to confirm a connection.
