The Sprague DNA Project

Project Goals

The Sprague DNA Project was established to support and supplement the genealogical research of the Sprague and Sprague-derivative surnames. This DNA project is working in cooperation with the large and popular The Sprague Project - the premier, genealogical web source for the Sprague and Sprague-derivative surnames.

Current goals of this project are the following.

- Link numerous, unidentified lines with known heads of lines, namely

1. Francis Sprague (1590 - 1676)

2. Sons of Edward Sprague (1576 - 1614)

2.1. Ralph Sprague (1599 - 1650)

2.2. William Sprague (1609 - 1675)

3. Edward Spragg (1616 - 1685)

4. Benjamin Sprague (1740 - 1827)

5. William Sprague (- 1808)

6. John Sprague (1708 -)

- Scientifically support assumed lines of descent

- Determine which researchers should be working together

These goals may be modified and updated as focus is gained over time.
