Sutherland DNA Surname Research Project
- Goals
The goal of our group is to compare Y-DNA markers of male descendants of Sutherland, Sutherlin, Southerland (and Septs) for genealogical and genetic purposes. The Administrators of the Sutherland DNA project will post results and utilize them to make interpretations of the Sutherland, etc lineage(s).
Results from our members may also be confidentially provided to the Scottish DNA Project for comparison purposes. The Scottish DNA project is a compilation of many participating Scottish surname and clan DNA projects at Family Tree DNA and other DNA labs, with DNA results posted on a public website at http://www.scottishdna.net/
