We have succeeded in our aim to map the yDNA back to / Ons het die y-DNAtot terug na Joost Strijdom / Strydom (b.1641 Netherlands/Belgium - d.1719 Cape) op te spoor deur ‘nverteenwoordigende monster van sy lewende nageslag saam te stel: / from a representative sample of his living descendants:
Twee van Joost se seunshet kinders gehad: (b3) Matthys, wie twee seuns gehad het, en (b4) Johannes, twee.
Die volgende stap saldan wees om afstammelinge van die agter-kleinseuns te toets: dit sal ook ophierdie webblad aangebring word tot ten minste die vier geslag.
Ons gebruik dieSuid-Afrikaanse genealogiese konvensie van 'n neerdaalende kleinletter deurelke opeenvolgende geslag gevolg deur 'n nommer wat die geboorte-orde aandui.
Die afbeelding van die variant en hooflyn y-DNAs saldiegene help wie se afkoms onbekend is.
Waar bekend, sal anderbenamings vir y-DNA ook tussen hakkies getoon word.
Vanaf December 2017 lykhierdie projek so, met hangende toetse of resultate in rooi aangedui:

Teen middel Augustus 2017 het ons ten minste eenafstammeling van elk van die 4 kleinseuns, en 7 van die 8 kleinseuns gevindwat y = R-M269 vertoon.

Hierdie en 'nbondel SNP ruggraat toetse in Mei 2017 het bevestig dat die oorspronklikeStrijdom / Strydom yDNA R-M269 is en die dieper klade as R-L51 op R-ZZ12_1 op R-L617 geïdentifiseerhet.

Ons is reeds bewus daarvan dat 'nNPE (nie-ouerlike gebeurtenis) by of onder b4c3d3e1 aanleiding gegee het totminstens twee yDNA-haplotipes in afstammelinge.
Two of Joost's sons - (b3) Matthys and (b4) Johannes each had two sons who have male descendants known to be living today.
The initial plan was to test a descendant from each of these 4 known grandsons, and also from each of the 8 great-grandsons:
The next step will be testing of descendants of each of the great grandsons: but this will be shown along the way on this web page: with at least the fifth generation - the great-great grandson recorded for each of the tests.
We use the South African lettering convention of a lower case letter descending through each successive generation followed by a number indicating the birth order.
The mapping of the variant and main line yDNAs will help place those Strydom / Strijdom whose the paperwork trail has been undiscoverable:

By mid August 2017, we had found at least one descendant of each of the 4 grandsons and 7 of the 8 great-grandsons showing y = R-M269.

These and a batch of SNP backbone tests in May to September 2017 have confirmed that the original Strijdom / Strydom yDNA is R-M269 and identified the deeper clades as R-L51, deeper to R-ZZ12_1, and still deeper to R-L617 - depending on the SNP tests that you pay for.

While so far 13 of 15 have got the same test results, we are aware that 2 NPEs (Non Parental Events), occurred at or below b4c3d3e1 and b4c6d1e2f2
