My FamilyTree DNA Project Website Title

Project Goals

The initial purpose of the St. John DNA Project was to compare markers from descendants of the St. Johns of Keysoe in England with the markers of the American immigrant, Matthias St. John, in order to attempt to prove or disprove the contention that Matthias and his descendants are related to the St. Johns of Keysoe. In particular, the theory has long been held in some quarters that Matthias St. John was an undocumented son of Oliver St. John and his wife Sarah Bulkeley. If this connection could not be proven, then we hoped to locate any other connection that would suggest the origins of Matthias St. John, who remains the most prolific progenitor of St. Johns in North America.
