The Silkstone DNA Project has been setup to extend the One Name Study of this surname and its variant Silkston.
Our aim is to create a genetic map showing possible kinship worldwide and a study of the surnames UK origin.
The wider study of the surnames genealogical family tree is being undertaken by several researchers and the continued sharing of data is encouraged and appreciated. Accordingly sharing MtDNA tests albeit not part of this study will be of real interest.
