Project Background
This is a Y-DNA project to research the genetic origins of Schneiders from the Volga German villages in Russia, which were founded in the 1760s. The project administrator's Schneider ancestors came from Stahl am Karaman, located on the east side of the Volga River (Wiesenseite) near Saratov. Schneiders lived in many other Volga German villages.
