Sadur Shadur family project- Background

Background

Almost everyone Jewish in the world named Sadur or Shadur (or one of the many other variants) can trace their roots to a shtetl in north east Lithuania called today Salakas - and known in the past as Salok. The clan has at least 8 lines of descent which are believed to be connected, but we don't yet have documentary evidence - so we've gone biotech to prove the links. There is also a Sadur family in Passaic NJ whose founder is said to have borrowed the name!
