Sharif's are people who claim to be descendants of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), through the two sons of his daughter Fatima Ezzahra: Hassan and Hussein.
The descendants of Hassan and Hussein sons of Ali Ibn Abi Taleb spread all over the world and particularly in the muslim world from Indonesia to Morrocco.
There are, at present, hundreds of thousands of people claiming to be be Sharifs.
Many of them own genealogy documents and certificates inherited from fathers to sons showing family trees.
