Background
The PRIM family DNA project welcomes any direct male descendant of PRIM, PRIMM, PRIME,PRIMER, DeLa PRYME, PRYME or any variations of these surnames to DNA test.
Are we from the same family line? Genealogists for decades have thought everyone with this surname was related due to our rare surname.
RESULTS: DNA results in our project show there are at least four Prim/Primm, Primer and Prime families in the Colonies who are not related. Are there more than four? Which Prim/Primm's DNA match each other? Who is really related?
We welcome all Prim, Primm, Primer and Prime families from Europe to test in our project.
Recommend the Y-37 marker test for best results in this study.
DNA testing is a wonderful new tool in genealogy and can be used to find others of the same bloodline lineage.
We encourage PRIM, PRIMM, PRIMER and PRIME males to DNA test. Families who are researching their lineage need to have a direct male from your line to participate in Y-Chromosome testing for this project!!
Our surname project is participating in the Family Finder autosomal DNA test. Both males and females can take the test. If you have a male or female PRIM - PRIMM (or various spellings) ancestor in your lineage tree down to seven generations it will show you cousin matches both paternal and maternal.
SIMPSON: The Simpson's in this project represent the Mecklenburg Co, NC are Simpson lines associated with the Primm families. If your Simpson's are from this area you are welcome to join this project. The two families were also associated in Georgia, USA and intermarried.
This project was last updated Oct 2011.
