Family stories say the ancestor of the New Jersey immigrant may have been Dutch, French, or Scottish. The passenger list for the immigrant arriving in New Orleans shows he boarded the ship in Le Havre, France. This is a unique opportunity to determine the Personett(e) ancestry and define which branch researchers belong to.
