The Overstreet DNA Project was started in 2002 to link common Overstreet families together. So far we have identified eight distinct Overstreet lines not related to each other. Because Overstreet was a place name, the likeliest explanation for this is that at least eight different families identified themselves as Overstreets when surnames first were used.
