Project Goals
The OLSTEIN surname project goals are to confirm whether or not two OLSZTAJN descendants who discovered each other through JewishGen are related, and to identify as many branches of the Lodz area OLSZTAJN family tree as we can. There are about 240 pages of testimony on Yad Vashem to OLSZTAJN family members who were killed in the holocaust, many of them from the Lodz area. I suspect that entire families were wiped out and I would like to be able to reconstruct as much of the OLSZTAJN family tree as possible. Using a combination of traditional paper-trail genealogy and genetic genealogy, we can identify OLSZTAJN descendants and pay tribute to those whose lives and family lines were tragically cut short.
