To date the following lineages have been identified in the yDNA testing process:
MacFarlane (M'F) Lineage 1, a possible lineage consisting of two men one of whom has only tested 12 markers and needs to upgrade to 37 markers to confirm that this is indeed a lineage.
MacFarlane (M'F) Lineage 2, consisting of two men one of whom has tested 37 markers. It would be good if he could upgrade to 67 markers like the other man in this lineage. This lineage MAY be a subgroup closely related to the cadets of our chiefs as shown in M'F Lineage 9.
MacFarlane (M'F) Lineage 3, consisting of two men one of whom has tested 37 markers. It would be good if he could upgrade to 67 markers like the other man in this lineage. This lineage MAY be a subgroup closely related to men of M'F Lineage 4.
MacFarlane (M'F) Lineage 4, consisting of eight men one of whom has only tested 12 markers and needs to upgrade to at least 37 markers to confirm that he belongs in this lineage. Three of the other men have tested 37 makers and it would be good if they could upgrade to 67 markers like the remaining four men in this lineage. Please note that it is possible that M'F Lineage 3 is closely related to these men.
MacFarlane (M'F) Lineage 5, consisting of three men one of whom has only tested 12 markers and needs to upgrade to least 37 markers to confirm that he belongs in this lineage. This lineage MAY be a subgroup closely related to the cadets of our chiefs as shown in M'F Lineage 9.
MacFarlane (M'F) Lineage 6, consisting of three men one of whom has tested 37 markers. It would be good if he could upgrade to 67 markers like the other men in this lineage.
MacFarlane (M'F) Lineage 7, consisting of three men who have all tested 67 markers and should now consider taking the advanced marker tests.
MacFarlane (M'F) Lineage 8, consisting of three men who have all tested 67 markers and should now consider taking the advanced marker tests.
MacFarlane (M'F) Lineage 9, consisting of thirty men, several of whom can trace their respective descents from our chiefs. Two men have only tested 12 of their markers and need to upgrade to at least 37 markers to confirm that they belong in this lineage. One man has tested 25 markers and it would be good if he could upgrade to at least 37 markers. Those men who have already tested 37 markers should consider upgrading to 67 markers like the remainder of the men in this lineage. Please note that M'F Lineage 2 and M'F Lineage 5 may both be closely related to this lineage.
MacFarlane (M'F) Lineage 10, a possible lineage consisting of two men both of whom have only tested 12 markers and need to upgrade to at least 25 markers to confirm that this is indeed a lineage.
MacGregor (M'Gregor) Lineage 1, consisting of six men whose test results closely match those of the chiefs of clan Gregor. One of these men has only tested 12 markers and needs to upgrade to at least 37 markers to confirm that he belongs in this lineage. Two of the other men have tested 37 makers and it would be good if they could upgrade to 67 markers like the remaining three men in this lineage. The ancestors of these men may have changed their surname when the Macgregors were outlawed in 1603 following the battle of Glenfruin.
Megaw Lineage 1, consisting of three men one of whom has tested 37 markers. It would be good if he could upgrade to 67 markers like the other men in this lineage.
Miller Lineage 1, consisting of two men one of whom has tested 37 markers. It would be good if he could upgrade to 67 markers like the other man in this lineage.
MacFarlane (M'F) I1 Lineage 1, consisting of nine men two of whom have only tested 12 markers and need to upgrade to at least 37 markers to confirm that they belong in this lineage. One man who tested 25 markers has just ordered an upgrade to 37 markers. The three men who have already tested 37 markers should consider upgrading to 67 markers like the remainder of the men in this lineage.
MacFarlane (M'F) I2a Lineage 1, consisting of two men one of whom has only tested 25 markers and needs to upgrade to 37 markers to confirm that this is indeed a lineage.
