Leftwich Family DNA Project- Background

Background

     The Leftwich Family DNA Project aims to connect Leftwich families to each other by way of DNA matches. This project is open to males only. It is hoped that, through DNA testing, we will find a genetic match between the American Leftwich males and the "proven" descendants of the Leftwich Cheshire barons. 

     Through this website, parties interested in contributing to the Leftwich Family Project may donate to the general fund (to be used only for the testing of individuals whose DNA is critical to the Leftwich Project, but who may not have the funds available).

      Also, through this website, males with the surname of Leftwich* may opt to participate in our family DNA project by purchasing their own DNA test kit. Once purchased, the test kit will be mailed out to each participant, complete with instructions for completing the test and returning it to Family Tree DNA.  

* Not only are we looking for males named Leftwich, but also males with related names, such as Leftwick, or Leftrick, Leftridge, etc.
