Project Background:

The project was created with hopes to connect some of the various Langdon lines and possibly break through some research brick walls. For example, Carol can trace her Langdon line back to a John Langdon who, according to census records of his children and some family stories, was born between 1780-1790 in Canada. Although many researchers have tried, none has been able to get back past this John. Carol has suspicions that he may be a descendant of the Connecticut Langdon's; however, after 25 years of searching she still has no proof to support her assumptions. Many other Langdon researchers have hit similar brick walls in their research, therefore, the need for this Langdon Surname DNA Project is long overdue.

Project Goals:

This project will involve surname variations to include, but not limited to the following: LANKTON, LANCKTON, LANGTON, LANGSTON, LANDON, LONGDON, LONGTON, LANGDOWN, etc. The attempt is to connect various lines which can not seem to be supported through standard genealogical applications and to tie together certain lines from here in the U.S., to anywhere around the world.

Project News:

We have 14 participants whose tests have been completed Most of the participants whose tests have been received ordered the 37-marker test, two have gone with the 67-marker test, and a few with a 12-marker test. The results we have received to this point can be found on the "Y Results" link above.
