The KLOPP SURNAME DNA PROJECT was created to establish a database of Klopp Y-DNA to help determine which Klopp lineages share a common ancestor. This project is open to any male having the Klopp surname or variant (Clopp, Klapp Clapp, Clamp, Lopp, etc.) or man believing that he is descended from a Klopp male.
In order for a female to participate, she must recruit a male on her father's side - her father, brother, uncle, cousin.
Testing will identify those with matching Y-DNA which can indicate a common ancestor, referred to as Most Recent Common Ancestor (MRCA). The test will not identify a specific person, but it will place you in a common family group which can supplement standard genealogical research.
