KING FamilyTree Y-DNA Project- Background

Started in 2001 with only 6 participants. 3 of my KING fam. and 3 of another KING family. No experience in setting up a website, very little abt DNA, but a great willingness to learn. We have all come a long way, and I've grown by reading the research and experiences of other Group Admin's. DNA is changing the world of genealogy. It does not take away the paper trail research. absolutely necessary, but now we know if we are following the right tracks.

We request Project participants get the 37-marker DNA test. Most of our KING families are Haplogroup R1b1, the most common Haplotype in Western Europe. Therefore, more markers are necessary to differentiate KING family lines.

On our KING DNA Project website -- Click on Gray “Results” tab at top of page to see the Family History Sheets for participants, click on “Y-Results” tab to see DNA Results. Families are listed alphabetically by name of Eldest KING Ancestor.

Every year the results of the research being done amaze me, and I can't wait to see how far we can go! What an exciting journey we are on!!
