Project Goals
We have three main goals in the Jumper FamilyTreeDNA Project:
1. Provide all Jumpers’ with an opportunity to learn and understand all they want to discover about their origins. You can begin your quest today to learn where your paternal line began, say a thousand years ago, or in some cases 60,000 years ago. By joining in this effort you will soon learn more about your paternal line, haplo type, and possible origins of your clan: You will also be helping the group to develop a DNA profile of the numerous Jumper branches. 2. We hope in the next few months to gather convincing proof of the racial makeup and or ethnicity of the early Jumper ancestors. We think this can be accomplished thru traditional research methods in combination with the latest genetic-DNA technology from FTDNA. It is our hope that genetic DNA testing will help put an end to the misinformation about the ethnicity or racial admixture of some Jumper lines. This hearsay evidence is nothing more than unsubstantiated speculation.
3. Our third goal is to try to get Jumper males to come forward and join this effort. We are seeking two male Jumper participants from each of the numerous clusters of Jumper families. If we can attain this objective, we will be well on our way to building a bridge to the lost Jumpers out there. These isolated clans of Jumpers are scattered to the four corner's of America, but we can track them down and help them find their way to their ancestral home.
