Background
~~~~~Exploring the Mysteries - Exploding the Myths~~~~~
Welcome to the DNA Project for Huskey, Husky, and Husketh. We are using DNA to further our understanding and genealogical research of Huskey family history for all Huskey lineages including the variant spellings.
*Our Project spans two continents. Huskey's are located throughout the United States, England, Ireland, and Scotland. Some branches may have even immigrated to Australia and Canada. We invite all Huskey's to participate and represent their family tree.
*Participation by our current testers has already provided success stories and exciting news about Huskey origins. DNA is taking us where the paper trail can't. We are breaking down our research brick walls with sometimes surprising results.
*Please click the Request to Join button in the upper left-hand corner of this page to order your Kit. Pricing and payment options will also be explained. Special pricing is given when ordering through this surname project site. I encourage testers to order the 37 marker test to provide the most accurate results of finding the most recent common Huskey ancestor between testers. Special pricing is available for participants who have previously tested with another company.
*Only males carrying the name of Huskey can test. A Y-DNA test kit will only provide Y-DNA information on your outside paternal line. If your Huskey ancestry was introduced through a female Huskey a Y-DNA test will not identify your Huskey ancestry. Females wishing to test their male Huskey line need to ask a brother, uncle, father, or appropriate male Huskey cousin.
*If you are not eligible to take the the test but would like to help keep the Huskey DNA project a success, please consider contributing to the Huskey DNA project fund. Funds are used solely to provide scholarships for the project. Please use the link on the upper left hand side of this message.
*Lineages of our participants, the Y-DNA result table, and current analysis regarding our Project can be found by clicking on the tabs across the top and the links along the upper-left sidebars of this screen. A separate website has been organized to discuss Huskey Family lineage as it pertains to family research, the Huskey DNA project, documentation, and keep abreast of new items. You do not have to be a tester to join the website. Please contact the DNA group administrator, Robert Huskey, to join the website.
*My name is Cynthia Wells and I am very enthusiastic about this Project and working with Huskey testers and researchers as Huskey DNA Group Co-Administrator. My husband descends from the York Co., SC Huskey's. I am a member of ISOGG [International Society of Genetic Genealogists] and their regional coordinator/speaker for the Western and Piedmont areas of North Carolina.
*The National Geographic Society has created the Genographic Project. Family Tree DNA is among other DNA testing companies helping National Geographic with the worldwide testing. As a participant tester you have the opportunity to add your test results through your personal FTDNA page to this important project that will study the genetic migration of mankind.
