The Thomas Haydon family in America has been thoroughly researched for many years and the results are thought to be reliable. however, the yDNA option provided an opportunity to confirm the published data.

It was found that a division of the Haydon family took place after 1740 when Thomas Haydon II adopted a young male child whose DNA matched those of the Brocks, not the Haydons.

The Haydon DNA proved to be J2a while the Brock-Haydon DNA was J2b2.
