About us

The strategic location of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands has attracted seafarers since the advent of ocean travel. This strategic location has played a major part in the history of the islands. In more recent times nations such as Spain, Japan, Germany, and the United States have vied for control of them. The turbulent history of these islands is reflected in the diversity of the current population.

Many residents trace their lineage to the indigenous Chamorro population that was on the verge of annihilation in the 1700s due to conditions and events that transpired with the Spanish colonization in 1668. Others trace their lineage to one or more of the gene pools that were introduced to the islands during the various administrations.

The goals of this project are multifaceted. Anyone with links to Guam or the Northern Mariana Islands is welcome to participate.
