These projects like FARRELL are usually ydna with the hope to find some common ancestor. lets say there are 50 FARRELL males in ARDAGH Ireland where the Farrell Clan is located and I bet there is. You could test them and see if they are all decended from the same Farrell. Now if they tested these FARRELLS and lets say there are two separate ydnas close but separate. Now a FARRELL from Chelsea Ma. could test ,along with a Farrell from VA. , and one from CA. You could find that all three are from Longford. Now maybe they match one or the other lines of FARRELLS either way you just found a ton of cousins. And the more FARRELLS that join expands the amount of FARRELLS lines that connect .and you get more FARRELLS . Do you see the picture? Maybe we find decedents of the two males in Ardagh and their ancestors
