Our first Dunagin project member traces his ancestry to William Dunnagan, b. 1700, Limerick Ireland. At least one of Williams' sons, Thomas b. 1706, Ireland found his way to America where his five sons began populating Virginia and North Carolina with progeny who eventually migrated further south to South Carolina and Georgia and also west as land was opened for settlement. Descendants of the North Georgia Dunagans are found in Texas and New Mexico today.
