This project was formed for the purpose of establishing genetic links among Downing families. Many Downing family members, particularly in America, are meeting brick walls in their family research efforts. It is hoped that Downings from the United Kingdom will also join the project. If links can be made between British and American Downings, then this may provide geographical areas of the UK where Americans can search for their family history.
