Congleton yDNA Project- Background

Background

In 1790, there were Congleton families in Delaware, New Jersey, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. In the 19th century, descendants of these families moved into Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Ohio and South Dakota.

Since that time a number of pedigrees for these families have been published in book form and on the web. Because of geographic proximity and similarity of given name, these families have been intermingled, creating inaccurate genealogies.
