Background

Randy and I had been searching for several years for the ancestors of John M. COLE, Sr. (b. NC 1774; d. Lynches Creek, Sumter District, SC 1834). Since we had pretty well exhausted paper sources, we concluded that our best chance for a breakthrough was DNA. We started the COLE Surname DNA Project in 2003. We now have expanded our original scope to include all variants of the COLE-COLES surnames in all geographical areas of the world. We have recently added a new member and co-Administrator of our Group (Don Cole--dcole8585@charter.net) that will be recruiting in the UK and Australia.
