About us

The Chemerinsky surname seems to have emerged early in the 19th century in Motol (24 Miles, or 39 km, NW of Pinsk). Its bearers probably came from the village of Chemerin (7 Miles, or 11 km, E of Motol). As the 19th century progressed, Chemerinskies were mostly present as far west as Kobrin and Prujany and east of Pinsk. There were probably at least two Chemerinsky lineages in Motol, and maybe more in Polesie. Chemerinskies continued to proliferate and migrate. By the end of the 19th Century, there were already Chemerinskies in the US but most of them adopted other surnames.
