Background
We have seen quite a bit of published information on the CRUMP family over the last hundred years, however, we now know that some of it is in error. With the introduction of the Internet and personal computers, much of this misinformation is being passed on as fact by many who do not know the whole truth.
These tests prove that there are at least eight totally unrelated Crump lines (so far) in America, which gives a lot of creditability to the therory that the our Surname originated as the result of a trade or location rather that a physical characteristic. This is further verified by five distinct Haplogroups, which means that even the Deepest Ethnic Origin is not even the same for all of us.
Surnames only came into being within the last nine hundred to twelve hundred years, so is is not likely that there was "One" progenitor of our name.
