Project Background

The purpose of this project is twofold:

(1) to identify kinship between widely located “Brooks” families; and

(2) to bridge the Atlantic Ocean to identify as far as possible the European origins of the several “Brooks” families.

Bring Your Tests from Other Labs Upon requesting to join our Brooks DNA Project with FTDNA, you will be eligible for reduced pricing if you've tested with another lab. FTDNA has the largest database and makes testing results much more meaningful.

CONTRIBUTIONS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:
We have contributions for use as matching funds to help pay for tests of proven descendants from certain lines of Brooks.

various Matthew Brooks from VA/NC/SC

John and Susan Brooks from NC

If you know of someone or are descended from one of these Brooks lines and have a documented paper trail, please contact me, Carol Redd, thru the Group Administrator link to find out if we can provide some financial assistance.

DONATE:
Perhaps you'd like to make a small donation rather than purchase a kit. Please click on the link contribute to the General Fund to the left. By listing your name, we can better keep track of the haplgroup you wish your donations to benefit. You will need to contact me, Carol Redd, and tell me to which group your paper-trail leads.
Anonymous contributions will be used for the general fund and not any one specific group.
If each member of a particular haplogroup makes a small contribution, then their group can identify a tester for a proven documented line, to hopefully break thru and tie into a proven lineage further back.
