This Surname Y-DNA Project was started in February of 2002. As of August 5, 2009 we have 60 Blakely & Variant Surnames Y-DNA participants in the project and two female mtDNA participants (eight male participants have also done the mtDNA test/tests which is an option but not a direct part of the Surname study).
