Cousin Dr. Pope located an Augustine Beesley in the records of Craven County, NC and found him to be an orphan of 7 years old indentured to Benjamin Saunderson as a Cooper in 1762. Benjamin Saunderson served as a Foot Soldier with William Rigby in 1754 in Craven County, NC. In 1776 William Rigby is selling land to Auston Beesley in Duplin County, NC. 45 miles southwest of Craven County. We feel that Augustine Beesley, who would be 21 years old in 1776 and old enough to buy land is our Austin Beasley Sr.
