• 27 NOV 2007: Kit # E2377, Mr. Baumann of Switzerland, joins the project. He was YDNA12 tested via Igenea.com which is the European branch of FamilyTreeDNA.com. We have a match! Kit E2377 has a close match of 11/12 at 12 markers to kits 17,490 and 24,418, both from the USA who have the English phonetic version of the name spelled as Bowman. However, they are descendents of a German speaking immigrant, pre-Revolutionary War, using the names Bauman/Baumann. Thus depending on the results of an upgrade from YDNA12 to YDNA37 or YDNA67 by kit E2377, these three lines may all be close genetic cousins on the direct male line. If so, the Atlantic has been bridged via a simple YDNA genetic genealogy test. It is now time to compare the paper trail genealogy notes for these lines.
