The surname Bruff is rare; it shows up in England, Australia (one English immigrant), Jamaica (English and American immigrants) and United States (multiple English immigrants). The group administrator traces her Bruff line back to Thomas Bruff who immigrated to Maryland, Colonial America, in about 1670. Other Bruffs arrived from England in the 1770s and 1800s. Some Bruffs went from America to Jamaica. One American Bruff went back to England in 1778.
