The Beede and Beedy names in America can be traced back to Eli Bedee, thought to be born around 1699 on the Isle of Jersey in the Channel Islands off the west coast of France. However, no evidence of his birth there has been found so far. The latest evidence suggests that he was born in Brittany, France. Hopefully this project, if successful, will give us some much needed clues.
