This project was created as an effort to find and bring together the genetically linked relatives of brothers Lazer, Beryl and Morris Abraskin, who came to the United States in 1904 and settled in Brooklyn, New York, USA. The brothers were Jewish. Their father was known as the "Blinder Hazan [Cantor] of Poltava." During the mid-1800's, the family lived in the town of Hadiach/Gadyach, Poltava, Russian Empire, now Ukraine. They may have emigrated from another part of Europe or Asia.
