The purpose of this project is to identify the various Barron family lines and to provide researchers with a scientific procedure to augment their Barron family relationships. ***** REQUIREMENT TO JOIN PROJECT: Participant furnishing the DNA sample MUST be a non-adopted male with the surname of Barron, or derivative thereof! ***** Any interested applicant who does not meet this requirement is encouraged to sponsor a male Barron relative for DNA testing. Just complete the Request to Join and provide the ancestral information of the Barron male you wish to sponsor.... >> NOTE: There are now four levels of DNA testing: the 12-marker ($99), 25-marker ($124), 37-marker ($149) and 67-marker ($248) tests. We highly recommend the donor take either the 37- or 67-marker test. The 12- and 25- marker tests are valid only for eliminating possible relationships; they cannot be used to establish positive relationships in a meaningful manner.
